Clothes, money and other donations flowed in.

The needs were enormous. More than 1,000 individuals and families were displaced by the storm. While the loss of life was much smaller than it might have been, homes were damaged and destroyed. Belongings were literally scattered across the state of Illinois. For most, insurance did not cover all expenses. LTR and its friends in the Funder's Forum helped to meet the gaps, from rental assistance to replacing trees. We tried to make œthe new normal as close to the old normal as possible.

Your donation counted -- and you could still help others later.

Members of the Funder's Forum often said they were pleased to know their money was used as intended thanks to LTR's dedicated case managers. Once those needs were met and LTR closed up shop, the remaining funds were earmarked for recovery from future disasters. We've learned the value of being prepared.
